Happy 27th Birthday Ben!

Today Ben & I (& close friends) celebrated his 27th birthday! We started off the morning with a good grooming session since he is shedding up a fur twister, which took place under his favorite tree while he ate from his nibblenet that hangs off the tree. I brought him a flake of his alfalfa hay & he dove right in after grooming session. Once he was full he made his nest as I call it & fell asleep in the beautiful sunshine & warmth. He had a special friend come & visit him as well who bought him a present of another bale of his lovely alfalfa hay! He got some extra treats today naturally since it is his special day, but only those acceptable for his recovery of course! His dinner had a little something special in it his mix & mash two handfuls mixed in (its all he ate when he was very sick). The evening I gave him his usual medications but brought him another flake of alfalfa because of course he's the birthday man today! after munching on that for a good while he followed me around & when I went to leave he went in his corner & fell asleep. So all in all a pretty relaxing day for him especially in comparison to yesterdays events. I can tell he's tired today from yesterday. He isn't used to so much going on especially with being in recovery.

So what exactly did Ben get for his birthday? He got a Nibble-N-Go nibblenet in his signature blue color, 2 bales of gorgeous western alfalfa hay, Beet Treats, Hilton Herbals Treats, & his special feed which is Cavalor Fiber Force! I feel very blessed to have this birthday to share with him & many more to come. We have been through a lot together recently & hopefully his 27th year proves to be a better one than last. I still will not ride him until his colonic ulcers are resolved however long that may take.
